About the Founder
Hi, I’m Valerie!
With over 18 years in healthcare, including nearly a decade in the ICU where I trained new grads one on one into the specialty of critical care, mentoring has always been at the heart of what I do. That same passion led me into legal nurse consulting.
Since 2021, I’ve worked in this field from nearly every angle: independently, as a subcontractor, as a hiring LNC, as a forensic nurse expert, and as an ICU expert witness. I’ve had the privilege of testifying in five states and counting.
Today I work as a practicing Legal Nurse Consultant across forensics, medical malpractice, personal injury, expert witness work, and more. I am familiar with the dynamic landscape of this industry in 2026 and understand what attorneys need today.
I built Legal Nurse Academy to be the mentor and resource I wish I’d had when I was starting out. My goal is to give nurses the practical tips they need to start working as an LNC, as soon as possible. Whether you have some background and just need to fill in the gaps, or you’re starting from square one, I’ve got you.
